Events Security
The term Events Security is used to refer to the management of public safety at a large scale event, for example, a rock concert. An events security team will provide expertise in crowd management with the aim of ensuring that the event passes off with little or no problems.
An events security team will include security guards, stewards, door supervisors and various support staff, e.g. traffic marshals. Whether a sports event, live concert, exhibition or a large social assembly, issues of safety and protection need to be addressed.
At any large type of event, various factors can cause security issues such as alcohol and drugs, threatening behaviour and violence (football crowds), gatecrashers and ticket touts. Plus, it is worth bearing in mind that at these types of events, people can behave in a variety of unpredictable ways which can cause problems for the organisers.
Engaging an events security team means that they are on hand to not only police the event, but to deal with whatever problem may crop up, for example, large numbers of fans who faint at live music concerts. And, in today's climate, they are on hand to report anything which looks potentially suspicious, such as an unexplained package.
